Due to the size and weight the shipping from USPS will likely be in the $30 range.  It is 24lbs and the box size is 19 x29 x 3.5 inches, leaving the 48706 zip.   I would also be willing to arrange for pickup locally.

Here is the link to the kit information on the Real Good toys website.  It was built in 2009 and has been stored in a smoke free home; in an air conditioned room.  Due to the size and weight, I will not be able to ship the house.  I am willing to make pickup arrangements (within an hour drive) of the Bay City/Saginaw area.

There is nothing wrong with the house, I’m selling it because I know I will never decorate it and need to make space for future builds.  The RGT’s houses are very thick and sturdy, would be an awesome house for a child or adult collector.

Greenhouse – flooring & window acrylic

I’m still plugging away at the greenhouse :) The window acrylic has been in various stages of gluing and clamping over the past week.  It takes a bit of work to avoid getting glue on the panes, but still use enough to make it hold.  So, I’ve been adding bit by bit  and then reapplying on the areas that are not holding down. I seem to remember this happening with the tea house roof too.  I may have to get out the super glues later if there are still pieces loose.

Window acrylic clamped

I decided to try the famous egg carton brick method for the flooring.  If you’re not familiar, here is Otterine’ s wonderful walkthrough, including links to all the info you’ll need.

Egg carton pavers

The first coat of paint is drying as I write :)  I see a couple of squares are a bit wonky, but that should be easy enough to correct or cover in the next steps.

Miniature Pansy Orchid (Miltoniopsis)

The last orchid kit I had was completed yesterday morning.  If you’ve been following my flower making, I’m sure you can guess that this was made from a Pascale Garnier kit ;)

Miniature pansy orchids

Both pots are by Sue Dix of Suramics Pottery.  These are also the last of the her pieces I had from last fall ,when I contacted her to make the pottery for the Asahi Tea House.  I love her glazes.

Compared to the other orchid kits, I’d say these were the easiest to assemble and hardest to paint. Bear in mind, I realize the paint difficulty factory is 99.9% self inflicted and self criticism.

The orchid collection will live on the window ledge in the Beacon Hill kitchen.

Mail Goodies

Recently I received a surprise package from Blondie.  I knew it was on the way, but had no idea what she was sending.

The first thing I opened was this laser cut chipboard of bird charms.

I can think of a bunch of great ways to use these in mini, the obvious thing that first came to mind was picture frames,  but I have plans for the other two ;)

There was also a tin of itty bitty gears.

She read my mind, because I’ve had a project on the ‘way down the road’  list that I wanted some of these for.  I’m sure I’ll find other ways to use them as well, as long as I don’t lose the pieces!  Some of them are very small as you can see.

There were two walnut halves, she suggested they might be fun to house a 1/144 item or tiny scene. To which I say, good idea!

The items came from Silver Crow Creations, apparently they always add a bonus item to their packages.  They sent a very cool holographic Cat In The Hat sticker, which kiddo is going to love adding to his sticker book :)

Thank you so much Blondie!
